Disgusting low life scammers pretending to be Santander Fraud Team have emptied my friends bank account of almost £1500. Please do the right think and hang up.... alternatively tell them that you the police and you have their exact location via trace.... make them feel as sick as my poor friend does at the minute

Is a Santander number when you call it and is advertised on their website as a customer service number. I don’t have an account with them but received a text about a new card order and to call if I didn’t order one. Spoke to Santander fraud they feel someone may have miss typed a mobile number close to mine.

This number called today...guy was very vague and asked many repetitive questions. He went onto ask for passwords...my wife got on her phone and called the number back off her phone. Was put through to Santander (genuine as it sounded like they usual call centre) Turned out to be fraudulent and they were trying to scam £300 from the account. Do not give passwords out...maybe should have told the guy the password was ‘doyouthinkimamug’ be careful !!

A man calling himself Alan Thompson, Scottish, rang claiming to be from Santander fraud department. He was ringing to check whether or not we had made a particularly large card transaction. Perfectly polite and believable...but we were very wary, asked lots of questions, he knew the last 3 digits of our bank account number. Rang off and called Santander. Called by 08009123123 which is a Santander number but their fraud dept have confirmed they did not call me. The caller had told me he was from Visa Debit and had I purchased something online for £3,500 from watchstop. They got my name wrong for starters. I said I hadn't bought anything online. He rang off after I questionned him why he was ringing and not my bank. Guess I was right to be too suspicious. Got the number by dialling 1471 and checked with my bank by using another phone afterwards.

Was called several t8mes on a private hidden number. I spoke to one chap who informed me I had a £500 direct debit about to be taken from my account. Alarm bells went off when the guy asked be for my 5 number pin number. I was then spoken to by his 'supervisor who tried to tell me I would be liable for any losses if I didn't act immediately.
